Gordon Head Soccer Association and Cordova Bay Soccer Club amalgamated in 2011 to form the Gordon Head/Cordova Bay Soccer Club. Both associations together have been involved in Vancouver Island’s soccer community for a cumulative 84 years and to kick off the start of the 2011/12 season, they’ve decided to make their merger official by changing the club name to “Saanich Fusion FC”. To celebrate their history and the fusion of the two storied clubs they have created a custom scarf for their players, coaches, supporters and fans.

We sat down with club president Doug Noel to ask him a few questions about their experience purchasing Ruffneck Scarves.

How was the process of ordering the scarves, did you find it simple?

The process was very straight forward and simple; we sent our colours and logos and we let the Ruffneck staff work their magic and create a design for us. All we had to do was send the PDF mock-ups to our board members via email and vote online. Within a week we were ready to place an order., it really doesn’t get much easier than that!

What were you first impressions of the scarf when you saw it in person?

The scarves are first class and very professional looking. We have been getting great feedback from our club members, coach’s, volunteers, and staff. We are starting to see them being worn by parents and supporters at games, which is great to see as it will help create a sense of community and pride around our club.

How did you find the overall experience?

Altogether the experience was excellent, the product is perfect and we think it’s going to be a great success with our club.

We want to wish Saanich Fusion a successful year!
